We had an early Christmas at Gary and Vanessa's, like we usually do. This is McKall who was really enjoying chocolate of some sort, obviously! |

Yesterday we were at Walmart grabbing a few things. On one of the isles Hayden picked up a bottle of cupcake sprinkles, accidentally dropped it, and broke it. I picked it up, kicked the sprinkles over and told him not to touch stuff in the store. I also told him that he could get in trouble if anyone saw him do that (gotta scare the kid- right). We moved on, paid, and went on our merry way.
A bit later, in the car, Hayden said, "Why do policemen have guns?" We explained why they have guns. He thought a bit and said, "Do policemen come for falling food?" At this point we weren't sure where he was going with this, so we told him that if the falling food was hurting someone the police may come. About 30 seconds passed and he said, "will they come if the falling food happens just once?"
I looked to the back seat and he had a really worried look on his face. Mike and I then both realized he was scared about a policeman coming to get him in trouble for the sprinkles. It was one of those moments that we were trying not to bust out laughing and trying to comfort him at the same time. It was so sad and funny at the same time. I felt so bad for him, my sweet little boy.
This year for McKall's 2nd birthday we celebrated with Grandma and Grandpa Barbour at Idaho Pizza and then we all headed over to Chuck E. Cheese! One of the kids' favorite places. Hayden wanted to invite all of his friends to CEC for her "party" and we explained to him that they are his friends and that she could just have a party with her family. A little while later he had a solution... we had to invite his friends' younger siblings. One was little tiny Lucy McDonald who was like 10 days old!! He was so cute being concerned about his little sis' birthday and he wanted to make sure she was going to have fun!
We took a short trip to Salt Lake to visit Amanda, Jeremy, and Lilly because they were being sealed in the Temple. Mike and Jeremy went to the Jazz game one of the nights, so the kids and Amanda and I hung out in the hotel room. Hayden and McKall had Lilly laughing so hard. The funny thing was they weren't really doing anything- just jumping around and being crazy- pretty much being their normal selves! While we were visiting Lilly got her first taste of meat. Amanda made us dinner and she left to get Jeremy from work, so we were waiting to eat. Lilly climbed up on a chair and started picking food off of the table... Meat. So, we decided to feed the kids before they got back. I gave Lilly a serving of meat. Amanda informed us after she returned that she doesn't eat meat because she is a vegetarian. Whoops. (P.S. Lillian- it was good huh!)
