Hayden's first day of Kindergarten!!

My baby's first day of school!!! He has been very excited to be in kindergarten and ride the bus. He is going to a Spanish immersion charter school, and his teacher's name is Mrs. Huddleston. It is full day, everyday!! On the first day he rode the bus and we met him at the school. He had already made a new friend on the bus, named Carter, and he didn't want us to walk him to his classroom. Well, this momma wasn't going for that, so we took him to his class and he found his seat and had a great day. When he came home that afternoon he couldn't remember what he did all day! We are so proud of him and the wonderful little boy he is. I am missing him at home - it is much more quiet with just McKall at home! I love you Beany!!!

Looking for fish!

We took a day trip to Idaho City with the Aurdahal's to see if we could find any Kokanee Salmon doing their run. We did spot some at the Grimes Creek area. The kids all had fun throwing rocks into the creek and swimming. They even caught a little fish in a cup! Afterward we had a picnic lunch in Idaho City and got an ice cream cone!

Camping in McCall

We went camping in McCall, and it sure did confuse our little McKall. Everytime we would say something like "We are going to McCall," or "We are in McCall," she would look at us confused and say "What?" with a stern voice! We had a wonderful time riding bikes, and Uncle Jerry and Aunt Jill were there for a Girl Scout Camp, so Uncle Jerry took us in his boat! There was no lack of dirt on the kids! Mike had a fun scavenger hunt for the kids and they did crafts, and also did the traditional camping activity of watching TV on daddy's cell phone! Kids are spoiled these days!

Happy 5th Birthday Hayden!!

Happy Birthday to our sweet Hayden!! We love you so much and couldn't imagine our lives without you! I told Hayden he could have anything he wanted for breakfast on the morning of his birthday, and he chose.... a frozen burrito. So, here he is enjoying his burrito! Silly kid!!

Hayden told me he hoped that he would get trick candles on his cake this year, so I followed through! It was pretty funny watching him try to blow them out! Daddy took him to Roaring Springs on his birthday, and they spent all day there!!! He had been dying to go there, so it was perfect for his birthday!!

The next day he had a bowling party with some of his friends. Here they are being typical goofballs!!!

Forrey Family Reunion 2011

For the Forrey Family reunion this year we took a train ride on the "Thunder Mountain Line," to Banks. The kids had fun with their cousins and walking thought the train and watching everything pass by. McKall and Lilly were being silly, and McKall had some crazy faces that day!!

After the train ride we went back to Grandma and Grandpa Barbour's house for a BBQ. The kids played in the water and did a pinata!

Oh McKall

The other day I came down the stairs to find this. McKall said her baby needed diaper cream and apparently her face and the couch did too! It was one of those moments, as a parent, that you are raging mad inside, but can't help laughing at the same time. Miss McKall definitely keeps us on her toes, and is a little sweetheart at the same time. She calls her blankie her "dwankie," and tells me that I am her "sweetness." Both melt my heart. She is lucky she is so darn cute when she gets into messes like this! She started going to "school" one day a week at the Infant and Toddler Program at Health and Welfare. She is a typical peer and she is loving it.

4th of July 2011

This year for the 4th of July we took the kids to see "Cars 2," and we had a swimming party and BBQ with Grandma and Grandpa Wyler at their new house.
That evening we went to see the fireworks, and afterward we did some of our own fireworks at home!! It was a busy fun day!

A little corney!

Summer without Corn on the Cob - not at the Marshall house!!

Yummy in Portland

We had to visit some of our favorite places to eat in Portland which included Old Town Pizza, which is haunted!! This picture is what we would look like if we really saw a ghost while eating! I love McKall's face!!
It wouldn't be a trip to Portland without going to VooDoo Donuts either. The downtown location was closed so the other location was packed!!! We waited in line for almost two hours!! It was so hot and we had all about had it by the time we got up to the register. Why do we do this???
Here is the VooDoo loot! They have the best donuts! Yummers!
We tried a BBQ place that we had never been and it was delicious!!

OMSI and AC Gilbert Discovery Village

While Mike was working the kids and I played! One day we went to Omsi where they had a really neat exhibit where the kids could build ball launchers out of tubing and vacuums. Hayden was very interested in it, and he could have spent hours just in this one place! We also took a drive down to Salem, Oregon to visit the AC Gilbert Discovery Village. AC Gilbert invented the erector sets, so they had a huge playground built out of life sized erector set pieces. It was really fun! They also had fun exhibits, like the bubbles, the giant rocking chair, and the dress-up area! For lunch we ate in the park along the river and took a carousel ride.
